Yaa (ヤー Ya), is the current leader of the mountain elves clan that lives in Taiju Village. She came to the village with her group during the fall of the 7th year. She and her group were forced to emigrate due to their worsening food situation, and on Raimeiren's recommendation, they sought refuge in Taiju Village.
Her group specializes in engineering and crafts, helping the village chief in different tasks such as making traps and hunting machinery, mining, blacksmithing and pottery. Their greatest pride is a working model of a waterwheel that they researched and built for the village.

- There is some kind of undeclared dispute between some mountain elves since the previous leader wants Yaa to get involved with the village chief, but he and Yaa's assistant have an agreement that allows her, to ruin any romantic moment that might arise between Yaa and the village chief.
- Raimerien is not mentioned in the anime because she was not introduced along with the dragons.
